So, this has been killing me all day now. I laid back 3 pieces of video (1 minute each) onto a DigiBeta tape. I was practicing using the insert edit feature to drop in small sections of each of these videos directly onto the tape. I made sure that the time codes on my FCP time lines were identical to the TC where each video appears on the tape. I also made sure that the edit to tape window was set to 'editing' and the proper in and out points were selected on the window (matching the TC on the FCP timeline which is also the same as the TC on the tape)... What happens is that it asks me to click ok to start recording... A window appears (just like any other time you lay back to tape), but instead of showing me the first frame of the video content that should be going to tape, it shows black. When the tape reaches the desired in point, the video output shuts down and nothing is recorded.
It's weird because earlier today, I was able to do this just fine. Also, when I lay a video onto the tape after what's already there, it records just fine. This is only an issue when I try to overwrite any piece of video on something already on tape. Anybody have any ideas?
