FCP 7 crashing on mavericks?

I have just upgraded to mavericks and am started to wish I hadn't. FCP7 used to run perfectly on my old system with no crashes.

However If I leave it and have to 'wake up' FCP7 it shows a jerky loop in the viewer window before quitting unexpectedly, the error message alludes to a problem with a plug in but I have no idea how to find out what plug in it is or what to do even If I did know.

Any advice is hugely welcome.

Did you have FCP-7 shut down when you downloaded Maverick?. Also check to see if FCP-7 is in your Launchpad.
