FCP "Export to Quicktime Movie" Driving me mad

I export all of my videos as "quicktime movies" and have never had a problem with it before. Now I just finished a new video that we need to put on DVDs, and FCP is not allowing me to export the whole video. I have the in and out set as desired, the entirety of a 2+ minute project.

The export process takes about 1 second, and it gives me an 8 second long video.

I have never had this problem before, I tried restarting the app, restarting the mac. Exporting with quicktime conversion works just fine though.

Any ideas?

FCP 5.0.1 running on a macbook 2GHZ 2GB, with prpject files on HDD (I know its bad, but I have created hundreds of videos on this setup with no problems. )

What settings do you use with your sequence, project and the export?

On what Mac OS X version do you work?

I ended up just bringing the entire project into my other computer and it worked fine without changing anything. Who knows... Thanks for answering though!

+1 - guaranteed to be the problem.

I use Preference Manager from digital rebellion (free). works like a charm to back prefs up then trash and reinstall, all within a few clicks.
