I've been using FCP for a few years and have always assumed that I could easily take my projects into a specific timeline in DVD Studio Pro. However today I needed to bring in a project into DVD Studio and there is no direct way to do this from what I can tell. Do I really have to export the FCP project and encode it just to put it into DVD Studio Pro to encode it again?

No, if you export out of Compressor to MPEG2 and AC3 audio, then DVD SP doesn't do any more encoding. It will format the disc, but it won't modify the audio/video.

This is the preferred way to do it, as exporting a QT movie at your sequence settings and letting DVD SP encode it will be lower quality and take up a lot of HD space.
