macOS FCP plugin to email upon export failure

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my head around creating a plugin for FCP (Or if possible an independent app), that will send a notification email if an export attempt fails part way through.

I am however struggling to find any real info on how to go about writing a plugin, or any of FCP's API.

If anyone knows of any good resources (Or if you know of such a plugin/app that already exists), any help would be much appreciated!
