Im sure to some, this is trivial, but I opened FCP and my project is open, but there's no timeline or viewer. Is all of my work gone? What can I do to get it back?

If you don't have a sequence open you won't see the timeline or canvas window. if you viewer window isn't open double click on a clip in your browser.
