i have a project in fcp on my imac and i wanna put it onto my mbp so i can finsih editing it with the portability and speed. I transfered everyhing i thought was part of it but some stuff is still ofline and i cant seem to get it to work. anyone have any suggestions?

Identify which clips or other media is offline, locate them on the original system, copy them over to the new one and then reconnect in FCP. I wouldn't worry about transferring render files ... you can always re-render.
