I'm rendering footage from several cameras used at a wedding into one Sequence Timeline and its taking a long time. The actual clips i'm using were imported from a DVD and converted into MP4 files with AAC sound.

Ive worked on this machine with other footage directly imported from a DV camera before and the render times were nothing like this!

Im running.
G5 Dual 2.7GHz Power PC
4.5 GB Ram
ATi Radeon X800 XT Graphics card
80Gb start up and Apps disc
250Gb dump for all Final Cut files, including the originals.

The clips in sequence create a continous sequence, 1hr16mins long. Currently its suggesting the rendering will take 9 hours total.

Ive set the output to DV Pal on easy setup. Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance guys.

You are rendering over an hour of very heavily compressed MP4 files into another heavily compressed format, DV PAL. That will take a long time.

Yes. You should've converted the DVD into DV PAL, not MP4.

They call you a demi-god, for good reason. It seems you answer everyones questions around here. Thanks very much.

I think that mostly where i'm failing is, common sense!

Thanks anyway.

Anyone can be a Demi by financial contributing to the site, but thank you for the compliment.:) Everyone starts from square one and I like helping people overcome, or avoid if possible, mistakes that I have made and learned from.
