This is for FCP... What format do music files have to be in for FCP to play them? I've tried dropping an mp3 and FCP won't play it, giving me beeps instead. I tried converting that to mp4 then aac, still with no luck.

Final Cut Pro will accept most file types including MP3 and AAC - basically anything QuickTime can handle. When you place the music files into the timeline you have to render the audio to convert them to your project's format.

So, in other words, hit Command + R with the timeline window active.
