*****Disclaimer: This thread is meant to help people figure out issues they are having with FCPX. There are plenty of other threads to post in if you want to talk about how much you dislike it. Please only post in here if you are genuine about trying to work out the kinks and actually figure out the software. Thank you.*****

I am a professional TV video editor and know my way around FCP 7 and Avid Media Composer quite well. I've been playing around with Final Cut Pro X for maybe 4 hours over the course of the last few days.

I have been running into all sorts of little snags, most of which I am able to figure out by viewing the FCPX Help section of the app...however there are a certain few things that I cannot for the life of me get to work. It is also very difficult to find any real information on the internet as the software is so new and everyone is too busy complaining about what it can't do. I for one, want to work with it as it stands and figure out the in's and out's simply because it will be getting updates, and should be up to par in time and I don't want to fall behind.

Hopefully this thread will be the place where others who are having real issues trying to get things that do exist in FCPX to work properly and if anyone has any great tips and tricks to share that is always welcome too...so on with my issue...

1. -Backtimed 3 Point Editing...
The documentation on this is very poorly written. They say to simply mark an out point on your source footage, and an in and out point in the timeline. The problem is that when you create an out point on your source footage it AUTOMATICALLY creates an in point as well...which will always take precedence over the out point.

I use Backtimed 3 point editing CONSTANTLY in FCP7 and Avid, and I am unable to get this to work in FCPX. So please, anyone out there figure this out?

2. Match Frame (Matching back from timeline footage to source footage to the frame)
Does this even exist? Having a hard time finding the answer to that.
