*EDIT* Title should say random not seq!
hey all,
so I'm trying to optimize my FCPX editing setup. Trying to see if i can make my 2018 base 13" mbp (with 256gb ssd) be my only machine. I also have a 3 years old hackintosh with ded. gpu etc.
So for fcpx library IO which is important for a fluid editing experience, you can test this by doing small 4KB random IO tests. I have found the app AmorphousDiskMark which lets me do this.
My results show something very interesting. My internal nvme SSD is slower writing 4KB random IO than my external samsung Evo 860 in an external enclosure hooked up via USBC.
Can anyone explain this to me? Can't be Or?
Any feedback or thoughts welcome
