FCPX how to del selected place?

FCPX how to del selected place? please have a look attachment.
i try to do it. but it will del select place it will del second line some clips too. please advice. thanks.

The grey gap clip is there to hold those 'second line' clips - you can see the attachments. Simplest thing in this case would be to trim the gap clip back.

In future, give some thought to what your primary storyline is. Or put up with gap clips.
