FCPx Imported clip distorted. Bottom part at top of frame

First time encountering this one. Imported some 4k from DJI Mimo app using their gimbal and the imported frame with proxy render has a portion of the bottom at the top of the frame and the frame as a whole is jogged down in Y position.

Tried importing different footage from same session, but not transcoding and no proxy, but now a slice from the top appears at the bottom.

Revealing source media in Finder and viewing, there is no distortion in them. Which I guess is encouraging, but how do I correct what FCPx is doing once it's imported?

Any sugs welcome.

Just to be clear this is present in the event browser as well and not just when put in a timeline?

Correct, in the event browser as well. Curiously sometimes when not playing in the timeline the clip looks correct, but on playback the issue reappears.
