So, apparently the first clip you add to the timeline area is denoted as the "Storyline" and any clips placed in that same first track will be designated as such. At first that's all find and dandy, but then you start adding B-roll, graphics and titles, etc, and things get weird.

For instance, I have a sequence of clips that I can adjust, crop, distort and add transitions to if I want. Then I decide to put a preset Title on part of that sequence, but in this case I don't like it's placement. Ok, let me select it (it's outlined in yellow), and I see the Inspector options appear and a box is shown around the text. If I double-click on the Title's text in the Canvas, I can drag its position around. But what about the graphic background for this particular title (in this case, the one called "Instant Replay")?

1) I CAN'T click and drag it around like the text.
2) Even if Inspector shows it's still "Inspecting" the title (with the big purple "T" at the top of the window), and I go to change the X and Y position manually...IT FREAKING CHANGES THE POSITION OF THE ENTIRE CANVAS!!! The title AND THE SEQUENCE of clips below it!

Solution? You must right-click on the Title graphic in the Timeline and select "Create Storyline" in order to change any other properties. This is true of anything else in the Timeline that you want to manipulate or add transitions to.

Why is this?
