Hi,

I'm a FCPX novice. There is some un-graded footage I want to import, and I have a LUT file that I want to use. Question: can I apply a second LUT "on top of" the main/first one?

As many as you want. Just add the "Custom LUT" effect and add it as many times as you need

Excellent, thanks.

And it won't matter which LUT it applies first? They're basically just additive, meaning if the first LUT adds +10 Green and the second LUT applies -1 Green, the net result is still +9 Green?

There's a mix slider. If you keep it at 100% I don't think the order matter, but if you don't the order could matter indeed. As well as how it blends with other effects. For instance, if you have an effect that masks out something in the frame, you'd probably want to apply the LUT after the mask.

OK good to know. I don't think I'll need any additional layers/effects. Aside for some minor cropping, the raw footage is ready to take the LUTs and get rendered.

Order does matter. It applies from top to bottom. I actually prefer applying color adjustment prior to the lut.
