Hello there,
I recently bought a 15" MBP this february, the config is as follow: 2.53Ghz, 4gb ram, 250gb - 7200 HD. The hard drive is partitioned in 2, one for MACOSX, and another for WINXP.The computer itself is great and dandy, but since last week things started to get a bit crazy, first while under normal usage the machine started to bog down, get extremelly low with the mouse responses, bluetooth freeze and such. Worst of all was that whenever i tried to restart the machine or shut it down, i got that screen saying the computer got an error, blac, etc... (Freeze).
After running disk utility, trying to repair the disk (which was OK), and fixing the permissions, the situation persisted, LONG bootimes up to 10 minutes, and constant freeze while trying to restart or shutdown.
During all this I have to mention that the WINXP partition was working and still is working GREAT, no issues whatsoever.
Since the issues didn´t go away i thought, well, time to backup and format the machine. Which i tried to no avail, Archive and Install fails in the end, Erase and Install too. Trying to just erase the MACOSX partition gives me an error at the start saying the disk couldn't be unmounted.
Does anyone have an opinion about this, possibles fixs, solutions, suggestion. There are no geniuses bars where I live, so I have to try all on my own.
Thanks for your time and sorry about my English, which is not my native language, nor second one.
