I just wanted to let those of you expecting deliveries from AT&T via FedEx know I called FedEx and they confirmed there is no signature required. This was the case with my 4S last year as well.

I'm a Premier customer but I wouldn't think that makes a difference. If you're doubting this info call 1-800-GOFEDEX and they will tell you if your package requires a signature.

they lied. Apple tells UPS and FedEx and all other delivery companies to override the rules and get a signature.

they can't just leave an iPhone on launch day on a front stoop without signature.

I was wondering about this, finally got my tracking number today. But went to check on the site if I can presign somewhere, unfortunately couldn't find anything. Only thing I saw was that I could have it held at their facility to pick up later. No Bueno.

Last year I pre-ordered the 4S from AT&T (premier) and they left it at my door. No signature required.

I'd be ****ing pissed if Fedex left a $650 electronic on my doorstep for anyone to grab until I get home

They did it last year with the 4S. And with the new ipad this year. So yes, they CAN just leave it at the front door.

I remember cases during the iphone 4 delivery when fedex just left the boxes on the porches and in certain cases the boxes were empty !

In order to pre-sign, you have to go on apple's website in your order status and follow the directions

Only an idiot would do that . That means that if your phone got stolen that you would be out how ever much you paid for it and that you couldn't file a claim

Does anyone have the link for the FedEx signature release form? Someone posted it but I cannot find it.

It's not really a form. Just write up/type up a piece of paper asking them to leave it (be sure to put your name, sign it, & date it).

Here's a thread from yesterday with the info. from FedEx.com: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1444850/

BTW, I confirmed this by speaking to my local FedEx delivery guy yesterday.

This sounds dangerous. I mean really cool for those who can't be there at delivery time, but pretty risky IMO.

I am going to have them leave it on my back porch.. That is safer than leaving in the the front.

They can and they do.

Well I guess they're living on the edge then..

No it will be YOU that is living on the edge as FedEx will not leave your phone without a signature.:p

We got to go thru this same crap on every phone introduction!

well thats a matter of opinion. some people live in parts of town where neighbors dont steal packages from peoples doorstep. i wouldnt suggest someone living in the city to do this option.

Fedex delivered mg 4S last year without a signature so I'm willing to bet that this year will be no different

That's weird because all of these other people including myself had the 4S delivered last year. But I'm sure you know better then the FedEx employee I spoke too...

UPS nor FedEx knows if the iphone is coming from which carrier unless it stamped on the box, do they ? So they would demand a sig. No ?
