So, I never signed a pre-release and I was tracking the package only to be shocked when it stated "left on doorstep." According to a family member, who was home, they never even knocked. A little alarming considering it was delivered to metro Atlanta area. Not the most secure place in the world...

This happened to a lot of people yesterday, too. Sometimes they just have such a heavy load that day, they take shortcuts.

Me too, under the welcome mat. The driver did knock on the door though before running off.

same here, he put them in a bag and was about to just leave it on my doorstep. i opened the door and talked to him. he's been up since 3am and won't be done delivering iphones till 6pm he said. he was like, "what ever this iphone thing is, its giving me a lot of OT so I don't mind..."

Maybe they use their private contractors aka (Fedex Home Delivery) to do the shipping to cover the heavy load?

Had the opposite experience. I filled out the release form had i taped it my door and the driver still left a doortag. Wrote "cant release international" on my release. Had to wait about 7 additional hours yesterday before I could get my phone at the fedex location.

Whyd they tell me to print one out if it was going to be rendered useless?

Wow that some BS and I'd be pissed. My FedEx guy took down and took the pre-signed release with him which was nice so people walking by wouldn't come up and see what it was after he came.

I bet it came from Att (label will say RCL or RLC on Independence Hwy Ft worth Tx). If so then AT&T puts a release/no signature required on all their packages where Apple are smart and required some sort of signature.

I was going to fly by my office to see if they may have left it there like USPS does. As soon as I opened the door, he was standing there about to knock. It scared the hell out of me because I wasn't expecting someone there and could have missed it by overreacting.

No no you did the correct thing.. The driver was wrong and prob new and never delivered a package before! I'm sorry you had to wait to go pick up! Only time they wouldn't take note and release is if the driver feels "unsafe location to leave" like hallway of apartment complex for example!

Fedex express and Fedex ground/home delivery are same name 2 different companies! Fedex ground/home del are contractors so they cannot handle express packages and vice versa and federal laws prevent the 2 being able to merge!

like someone mentioned in the uk, that is classed as not received item!
i had a gamecube delivered to my house, and was left on the front door step.
the note said "left in porch". how i laughed i hadn't got a porch!
so i thought "hang on ill try summat here"
rang littlewoods, told them what had happened BUT i said the gamecube was not in my porch because i hadn't got one, so either a) the courier had pocketed the gamecube. and b) it was left on the step and someone saw it and took it!

i said i will send them photographic proof i aint got a porch, they said "no thats fine, we will send you another one tomorrow"

moral of the story i got 2 gamecubes for the price of 1!

might be a but harder to try this with an iphone with the imei number etc

Enough. You would have been bitching if they didn't leave it.

ditto. FedEx guy left my (2) iPhones at the front door. I live in an Apartment complex on the first floor and the first apartment of the entry way. As if the leasing office was a far walk.... could not believe he did that

I also live in an apartment complex. They delivered it at 9 AM, didnt get a signature. Phone was stolen.

still waiting on UPS

UPS sucks, said to deliver 23rd, then re-scheduled to the 24th, still waiting, called 3 times and all 3 times blamed ATT for the delay, but I will get it today according to the 3 reps i spoke with??????????? Getting pissed
