Ordered 10/24

Now shipping, via FedEx.

Scheduled for delivery Monday, 11/3, "by 8:00pm."

I'll be gone mid-day, roughly 9a - 3:30p.

As I see it, my options are:

  • Pre-sign for delivery, so FedEx leaves the package at the front door. Obvious risk of having it stolen (or extremely low risk of FedEx chicanery). Nice neighborhood, but it happens.

    or

  • Let FedEx attempt delivery, and then reschedule delivery later in the week when I will be here to sign.

Is there an official option I'm missing?

How late can I pre-sign? Day of delivery?

Any help appreciated. :)

call FedEx - ask them not to put on the truck for delivery and go pickup at your local fedex depot

Yeah get them to hold it at a Kinko's if you can. They're open late and it's awesome.

As a side note, my Mac was in memphis yesterday and was set for delivery tomorrow but arrived a full day early. Originally Apple said I'd get it on the third of November. Luckily a roommate was awake to open the door, great day today :]

As mentioned, having them deliver it to the nearest Kinko's is an easy solution. Another solution is to pre-sign and ask FedEx to deliver to a neighbor that you know will be home. Or just have them deliver it the next day...but why do that when you can pick it up at Kinko's?

Cheers,
Bryan

Apple Store

I have my new iMac delivered to nearest Apple Store, it will be there Nov 4th instead of Nov 12th for home delivery. Much faster, will pick it up after work.

Thanks! I didn't know this was an option, but I called FedEx and set it up.

The package should be at the Holding Station on the day of delivery.

So thanks again. :)
