Alright, I've a Macbook in the pipeline from the Apple Store. The tracking page says that the estimated delivery date is Tuesday, but the package is already in the same city that I live in. Here are a few factoids about the whole order thing:

- Fedex is handling the shipping.
- I ordered the Macbook late Thursday night. It shipped out early Friday morning.
- I noticed that the package arrived early Saturday morning in Seattle.
- The delivery estimate still says August 29th.

So... with that said, will Fedex deliver on Monday since the package is already here in Seattle?

Who knows?...

I bought two other items when I ordered my MacBook, .Mac and an iPod nano.
  1. The MacBook was shipped from China via FedEx.
  2. The iPod was shipped from California (my state) via UPS.
  3. .Mac was shipped from the same city I live in via FedEx.
...The items arrived in that order.

The MacBook traveled around the world in less time than it took for .Mac to be shipped about 20 miles.

Moral of the story; you package will arrive when they feel like it.

That said, my MacBook came a day early, but according to the website it was still in Tennessee.

Excellent... I'm hoping that Fedex aren't bitches and ends up shipping the thing tomorrow morning.

they were about a week off with my delivered iPod and then it all of the sudden had a readjusted date. They start packages with longer delivery so if an error occurs then people don't get angry that the package wasn't received when it was supposed to... the ol' better to be safe than sorry rule.

I noticed many times that fedex give themselfs about 2 extra days everytime the ship an item to me. Its always been this way.

Ah that makes me mad I ordered a macbook (with no BTO options) on friday to. I paid $20 extra for shipping but it's estimated arrival date is the 6th of september :-(
