I made this logo for a website I've been working on.
I'm new to Graphic design and wanted to know what you guys thought of it.

You've fallen prey to the desire to include everything in the logo.

There's only one solution to this age old problem...

make it bigger.

Oh Dear God...

When all else fair make it bigger...

A good logo should be:
1) Simple
2) Memorable
3) Easy to replicate
4) Make perfect sense (I seriously don't get your logo)
5) Timeless
6) Simple
7) Scalable
8) Work well in one/two colour(s)
9) Fit into the magic box (2.25 X 1)
10) Look good without FX/Filters
11) Not make in Paint

 5 Principals of Logo Design
1) Simple
2) Memorable
3) Timeless
4) Versatile
5) Appropriate

IMO scrape it and start again.

Better...

Is this logo any better:

The BD would stand for bamboo design and the letters form a bamboo like shape.
I know the curves aren't the same on the different letters but it's just a rough draft.
Is the concept better at all?
Let me know what you think.

The questions you have to ask yourself are:
1) Does this say what it is meant to say?
2) Would I use/trust this service/brand?

Personally if I were a potential client, first I don't understand the concept of of the BD and secondly it just doesn't look professional. With regards to design I always put it like this "Would you hire a lawyer who drives an bashed up Toyota and wears a 15 year old suit? I think not".

Sorry to be mean or harsh but what you're design looks amateurish, it don't scream professional and if the purpose of design a logo/brand is to entice potential customers you'll find it very tough.

I would also check this one out

Thanks for the advice.
I think that I may just not use a logo at all then.
Because I am just a 13 year old kid, I can't pay to have one
designed and I can't seem to make one so I guess I have
no choice.

I've never heard of any 13 year old who needs a logo. I still haven't.

Kerning + Helvetica = Nice wordmark ;)

BTW I did post some very good links that I think you'd get some use out of if you have a good look at them.

It is nice But it don't Create any Attractive Impression. While making any Website Design or Logo, Always Remember that your design should Reflect Simplicity & Attractiveness - So kindly modify it towards Attractiveness :)

I'm saying that I'm to young to have an actual job.

Then don't make an iPhone app. Because that'll be an actual job.

If you want to learn iphone app programming that's great, but you don't need to learn design to code. And from the sounds of it you're just doing this to "avoid paying a designer" instead of wanting to learn design. If you want to learn design practice typography, color theory, and balance. Logos are one of the toughest things to design and not recommended to start with those.

If you just want an icon for your iPhone app, just head on over to istockphoto.com and search for icons. Two or 3 dollars would get you something halfway decent.

Turn your head left and it looks like a bikini gone horribly wrong.
