Thanks for you reply,i am located in Remsenburg city
in NY,i really need to buy this and send to my
son schooling outside the state as a gift .I have
been trying to buy this on ebay but its so very stressful
buying on ebay.I will offer you $XXX so as to close the
auction as soon as possible.I will be paying through PAYPAL
because i have a verified account with paypal. So kindly get back with
your paypal email address so i can make payment into your paypal
account.Once payment clears, shipment will be handled by me through my
personal fedex account,so you dont have to pay for
shipment.Get back to me if my approval is granted.I would like to see
the pictures please.
Thanks

The interested party to my CraigsList posting to sell my 8gb 3g iPhone is offering to pay $30 over my asking price. Does this feel like a scam to anyone else? what should I watch for? how do I make sure I dont end up without a payment or phone. I have a paypal account, but I'm used to paying, not reciving money. I dont know how protected I would be for her pulling the $$ back.

Thoughts?

I sold a ipod and itouch on CL and in both of those transactions i did not get there story why they wanted to buy the product.

Yep, it's a scam.

They will send you the money, get the phone, make a claim against you with paypal and get their Money back.

I suggest stringing them along and messing with them for about a week if you have a few minutes to spare out of your day. It is fun and I figure if they are busy with you, these scumbags might miss scamming someone else:D

I have a related question - I just sold a couple iphone 3G's on ebay and had the buyers pay with paypal. This new "holding of funds" until the buyer receives the product is a little sketchy. Any ideas on how to mitigate potential scams through paypal?

I plan to ship the phones via fedex with a tracking number and requiring a signature upon receipt of the phone. Any other recommendations from people who may or may not have had problems before? Thanks!

One paypal scam someone tried to pull on me is they send an email to your account that looks just like a paypal email, but if you check your account the money was not actually deposited. It is simple to figure out, but they only need to trick a minute amount of people to make big money.
