Just wanted to check in. My experience so far.

- The Touch Bar remains "meh". I have NOT tried better touch tool but overall I don't have either a positive or negative opinion of it. It has not become more useful over time, with only minor uses.
- Outstanding screen, build, speakers, trackpad, as expected.
- Great battery life.
- I've adapted to the USB-C situation well
- Remains speedy, but I'm astounded by the progress Apple's chips have made - I expect my upgrade in a few years to be powered by an A-series processor.
- I have NOT had to get a keyboard replacement yet.
- The keyboard is definitely uncomfortable to type on for long periods of time, but otherwise isn't too bad.
- Overall I've realized that this machine was overkill for what I used it for, and regret spending so much on it lol. I got it for a significant discount just after launch (<$2000), but after noticing things like the Hauwei Mate on sale for $500 recently, can't help but think they would have met my needs just as well. I don't game either, but the base Razer 15 blade looks decent - albeit I'm wary of the lousy support. Being in the Apple ecosystem though, the handoff, continuity, air play, etc is nice. I also love the simplicity and usability of MacOS after having been a lifelong windows user.

Thoughts from anyone else 1 year in?

I purchased mine a few months back after the release of the 2018 for a good discount from B&H which is still going.

I basically just wanted to upgrade the screen Realestate from my 2016 13" tb. I am pretty happy with it but I am not pushing it either.

The touch bar is more eye candy and agree "meh" I do use the quick actions with automator to toggle between light and dark mode and close all applications.

When I am using my magic keyboard with numeric pad on my iMac it feels much better then the 2nd generations keyboards. I can deal with them but I just hope I don't have the problems others have had with them. Not sure if the 3rd generations is any more reliable from the posts.

The screen is fantastic, the build is solid. The track pad is ingenious. Battery life seems OK, I only have 10 cycles in the 2 months. It appears to last more than 8 hours but I have not really tested it in a one shot time frame.

I love the ecosystem of Mac OS and iOS.

I and disappointed in the problems Apple is having with the T2 chip at the users expense. I feel fortunate that I got the 2017 and have had zero issues.
