The project began in late 2005 when James purchased Ferrari's flagship Enzo supercar and immediately sent it to Pininfarina's design studio. Critical of the original styling, James requested that Pininfarina rebody his car

As you do.

Still... holy f**k.

And I thought Pininfarina designed good looking car's. Looks like they've dropped the baton with this one.

I sure wish I had the means to get an Enzo and have it reworked because I didn't like the look. I mean, I get that you can't take it with you, but is he spending anywhere near that amount on worthwhile projects?

I would say I like the look of a stock Enzo better. I sure wouldn't be spending god knows what to have it completely redone.

I thought one reason people bought Enzo's was for the look. If you want a custom looking super car, why not build it completely from the ground up, instead of first dropping $700,000 or more on the Enzo then starting to customize. I think I would be more happy with a $700,000 custom car than what this guy ended up with.

I think this cost around 4 million. Pinnifarina originally hid the project from ferrari (who usually isn't too happy with people messing up their cars) and only showed it to them once it was done. Ferrari was apparently very happy with how it came out.

Personally I think it looks stupid and prefer the original enzo to it. I'm going to reserve my judgement till I see it in person though (its coming to the US for one show) as most people seem to suggest it looks entirely different in person.

look at the size of the air intakes at the front...
this car was designed for excess!
nearly 500kW of power, 660 nm of torque!
a V12 car which weighs in at only 1200 kg, and only 1.2 metres high...

yeah, thatd get you from A to B

I thought the orginal Enzo looked good!!! But WTF, if sexy could be created into a physical object, then this man may have just done it! lol

Cheers

Very Nouveau Riche.

Quite the opposite really. The car was designed in the style of classic 1960's era racers... a nice counter to the fast forward design of the standard F60/Enzo.

Personally, I'm a fan of the car itself, and the coachbuilding history this car evokes. Hopefully more owners will take this cue and explore the world of personally crafted autos rather than plunk down insane amounts of cash for the bog stock toy.

This car looks fantastic. The distinct lack of taste shown by some members here is actually quite shocking. I assume you know it's basically a modern interpretation of a Ferarri P4 don't you?

Quite the opposite really. It may have been designed in the style of classic 60's racers but it lacks taste. Ergo my comment.

And its rump.
I'm calling NY police and telling them that the car was stolen from me! :p

Sweet car! But if I had that kind of money, I would not spend it on an enzo/custom enzo. I would go with an Autin Martin. There so nice!

The P4 was beautiful, this is not. The new car looks fantastic from the rear, but merely "OK" from the sides and front 3/4. It looks too lumpy, and the wheels really don't fit.

I agree with Sesshi here. Being inspired by a wonderful car doesn't make it one.
