Is there any way to fetch data more frequently for email? 15 minutes is too long of an interval for me.

No, there are no other options other than what's listed. Maybe with a jailbreak you could get additional choices but I can't be certain as I haven't jailbroken my phone before...

Use an email service that will push your email.

I have a domain name that I use for my email so my email address looks like firstname@lastname.com. I forward any message that comes in to my regular email account to my gmail account. My gmail account is setup to push that to my iPhone. I also have my gmail account setup as imap so if I read it on my computer or phone it still shows up as read on the other device.

This also allows me to take advantage of gmail's spam filtering, which is better than I can setup on my domain host's servers.

can you set a period of fetch times? for example, only fetch from 8 to 5?
