Few issues going on

Ok I have a few issues going on. I have a 4 year old MBP. dual core ghz intel processors 3gb ram and 500gb hd. Running OSX..

Here are 2 of my issues. When i unplug my MBP fan goes on and it gets super hot then in about 20 mins just shuts off.

2nd issue. I am running latest version of Firefox. It crashes on my non stop. I have to force quit and re open and seems to run fine. IDK maybe its time for a new one but just don't have the dough. Anything I can run to clean things up and make sure its nothing software related.. Any suggestions would be super helpful.

Does safari crash like firefox does? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall firefox?

Don't use safari.. Haven't even bothered to try it. Guess I could .. I can try and re install it haven't tried that either.

SMC and PRAM reset can sometimes fix weird behavior like that.
