Hi all i am loving my macbook pro - i got a ibook g4 about 6months ago for £150 and fell in love after having a disappointing g3 
(but only cost £10)
i got my macbook pro a1286 c2d 2.4 4gb ddr3 and all the gubbins for £250 plus my old toshiba in trade in gotta love my boss only snag is the hdd in it was faulty...i paid £20 to have a 320gb placed in it so all's good - or so i thought...
1) very odd thing every once in a while i'll be browsing nothing serious and the macbook will hang slightly the rainbow ball will appear then after a couple of seconds like nothing happened...been reading what people have been doing and complaining about etc etc etc...and is it possible that the hdd is causing this hiccup???
2) also i have a mini display to hdmi plugged into the hdmi on my 42" plasma tv and when playing video's with vlc player it will play for about 10mins then hang fully the rest of the mac is fine but vlc wont do sod all!!! then it will carry on if i press play pause skip a bit etc...i know the file is okay as have tested on another windows laptop
