Evening,

When I'm creating a worksheet, and how can I set a column to have a specific formula automatically when I create another line?

So column C1 is A1+B1. So if I create a NEW line, column C1 automatically is that set formula.

Lastly, how do I set it so that a cell pulls a stock price. I'm trying to do it, but I'm running into errors when entering in the formula.

Thank You

I am not a power user of numbers, but this is how I do it:

To get a column to automatically repeat the formula, I insert the formula in the first row (C1 in your example) and then drag the yellow handle at the bottom of the cell down the column to the bottom of the table. This automatically changes the formula to be correct for the row, so A1+B1 for row 1, A2+B2 for row 2 etc. It also enables the behavior I think you are describing which is any new row also has the correct formula in column C.

For stock price the simplified formula is STOCK("symbol") with the symbol in quotes (i.e. a string) so STOCK("AAPL") returns the current price for Apple
