Few Questions

I'm looking to buy a MacBook pro but cannot decide between the two options. I know there is about a three hundred dollar or so distance separating the two options. I hope for this to last til I graduate in college in 2015. Currently a junior in high school. It may be a little far stretched for it to last that long.. Any suggestions are welcomed!! Also, is there a time slate for when the new MacBooks will come out? Should I wait til then?

I actually think it is perfectly reasonable for a well cared for system to last 5+ years. As long as you're only using it for basic tasks, it should easily last that long. I'd recommend though for this length of time to buy the fastest processor possible for whatever model you get, and then upgrade the RAM and HDD as you need to. This will future-proof the system for as long as possible.

Thanks. Yeah it won't be heavily used. School stuff and music will be the main functions

Buy a used one now, take advantage of the great discounts that college students get, especially over the summer, right before you start college.
