I have an audio-device that got its own power supply, but its Firewire 800, and I only have the 2-port 13" Macbook Pro (2019) which is already occupied. I had hoped I could connect this FF800 device to my eGPU with additional USB-C ports, but I haven't been able to find a solution for this.

I do have an Apple FF800 to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor, but would I be able to buy the TB2 -> TB3 adaptor and put it into a USB-C port?

Or what's the recommended solution for this (if any)?

You can use the Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter with the TB2 to TB3 adapter, but that adapter can only be used with actual Thunderbolt ports, not with USB-C only ports.

To add FireWire, you need a free Thunderbolt port. You can chain Thunderbolt devices if they have two Thunderbolt ports. A Thunderbolt device with no second Thunderbolt port must go at the end of the chain. You have a MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt 3 ports so you can have two Thunderbolt chains. A chain can have 6 Thunderbolt devices.

An Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter plus Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter can go at the end of chain. If you do not have a free Thunderbolt port (the chains are terminated by other Thunderbolt devices with no second Thunderbolt port) then you have a couple options:
1) A Thunderbolt 3 dock with a FireWire port. OWC used to make those. I don't think you can find these.
2) A Thunderbolt 3 PCIe expansion box with a FireWire PCIe card. The PCIe card may have multiple FW800 and FW400 ports. The PCIe card may include a Low Profile bracket to fit smaller PCIe expansion boxes such as the Sonnet Echo Express SEL. Example: https://www.startech.com/ca/Cards-A...4-PCI-Express-FireWire-Card-Adapter~PEX1394B3

Either of those options has a second Thunderbolt 3 port so that it can be used at the beginning of a Thunderbolt chain.
