Recently I want to do some higher quality field recording, so went to shop a more compact style interface.

I have a RME UFX and T.C Desktop Konnekt 6

UFX obviously in no condition for the job, in term of size and the power requirement.

I wanted to use my existing Konnekt 6, so I can save few bucks.
But it's not compact enough for my bag(with MBP, harddisk, cables, mic, super drive, mono-pod and other stuffs)

Did some research, really liked Apogee Duet 2.
Got it yesterday.

I gotta say, it sound incredible. and sturdy build. Great for the job! yay!

Today went out and do a little test. MBP 100% charged.

fire up Logic pro 9.

record a mono track.
with 48v enabled (for Neumann TLM 103)
and plugged in earphone (Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro)

Recording in 24bit 44.1kHz

15 mins in. battery went down from 100% to 80% ..
What?????

Is this normal?

Anyone has has experience on mobile recording with Duet 2 can tell me if this is normal rate of battery consumption ? Thanks

I can't answer your direct question - but did you try the same with your most sensitive dynamic mic? I know phantom isn't typically a power-hog but out in the field that may make a difference.
