Since I use these FiiO FA7S IEMs and the FiiO BTR17 with my iPad Pro, I will review them here.

These are very good earphones. The reviews all say the FA7S is undervalued; they are not kidding. There are so many things I like about them. First, the stainless steel body fits my ears perfectly; they have a solid feeling, cool when first inserted, and they quickly warm up and disappear—zero irritation. The shape fits my ears perfectly. It has been a long time since I have had IEMs that fit this well right out of the box.

The sound: The earphones have a very even sound, much like the Eymótic ER4SR's, but more powerful. This is because the FA7S has 6 Knowles balanced Armature drivers firing into individual tuned ports versus the single Eymótic BA driver in the ER4SR. The FA7S are not booming thuppa-thuppa IEMs unless there is powerful bass. This is what had always endeared me to the ER4SR's. The comparison with my Shure SE-535s is interesting. I very much like the sound of the 535s, which has 3 Shure BA drivers. The 535s have more bottom end and are very smooth and more open, but they don't have as much "middle" as the FA7S. For music, I would pick the SE-535 to listen to metal, trance, J-Pop, etc. The FA7S is for orchestral Metal, Big Band, classical, Baroque, and so on.

Here is a very detailed review of this IEM found on Head-Fi

I did not know Fiio makes headphones. I remember them making small amps for headphones - a rather niche thing, given that wired headphones are quite a rarity today

What amazes me is the FT5. This headphone has 90mm Planar Magnetic drivers. $449 USD ??? The Audeze LCD-5 is 10 times that price at $4500 USD. They also have the FP3 IEM that has Planar Magnetic drivers for $90 Dollars How do they do that?
