I have a file that appears in the trash after every boot that can not be deleted, but when you drag it to the desktop it disappears. It seems to be the only way to remove it. You get no error message anytime. The file just has a bunch of ~~~~~ for identification.

What caused this and how do you remove it???

New 2009 3.06 iMac running latest version of Leopard. No issues at all with machine.

Do you have a Bootcamp partition? If so, it is most likely an issue with the C:.Trashes file being corrupted. Search for that.

Thank you. I do have a XP Partition running under Boot Camp and VM Ware Fusion.

I did a little research and solved the problem. The issue is corrupted files in Windows. You have to run Windows and then run CHKDSK /f (the /f is for Fix). This solves the problems.
