Right now, my MP3s are associated with iTunes as the default application. I would like to set that to QuickTime, i.e. when I double-click an MP3, it'll play in a QuickTime window instead of the iTunes. Could someone tell me how to go about doing this?

1. Select an MP3
2. Get Info (Cmd + I)
3. Open With...
4. Pick Quicktime from the drop down
5. Check apply to all files of this type

Select an MP3 file
Go to File -> Get Info
Expand the "Open with" section
Select "QuickTime Player" from the drop-down menu
Push the "Change All" button

Alternatively you can use this, which allows you to control all file type preferences in System Preferences.

Thanks to all! I've just installed this "Default Apps" which seems to be pretty useful and easy to use.
