Being a relatively new Mac user, I'm not sure what the best freeware would be for what I want to do, and I don't want to download twenty different programs before I find the right one. So, I'm looking for recommendations.

1) I want to find a program that lets me easily convert .wma files to .mp3's.

2) I also want to find a free, simple program that allows me to unzip .rar files. (This is another case with mp3's, except I have twenty songs zipped into one, and can only play them with VLC RAR-Loader.)

If anyone could help with this, I'd appreciate it.

2) Try RAR Expander, just google it.

I'm looking for an easy wma -> mp3 converter too.
I have FFMpegX, but it's no good. You have to convert every song seperately.:(

if the .wma's are unprotected, you can use easywma.

if you still have access to a PC, iTunes on it can convert unprotected .wma's.

check out UnrarX.

Try using StuffIt expander it's free

Try using unrarx it's free

Try using winrar for Mac, but it's only a trial

StuffIt is good, maybe the best

all2mp3 is great

so is unrarx

ive been using unrarx for awhile now. its really great. but i hav trouble for some files tht needed password to extract. Here's the problem: unrarx downloads onto some macs with NO "password" box in the upper right hand corner, and no "password" item on the toolbar. Why this should be, I don't know. I have two macs, a desktop and a laptop. Unrarx downloaded the "password" boxed version onto the desktop, but it always downloads the no-password-boxed version onto the laptop. so because of this, i cant extract the file. pls help me. i would really appreciate tht.
