File image on get info

In Photoshop 2017 when I do get info the image is no longer there like if it's a photo, say I save a jpeg just the regular jpeg icon shows or if I save as Photoshop just the Photoshop icon show not the picture. El Capitan haven't tried it yet in Hi Sierra.

SOLVED
1) Open the .ico file in Preview

2) Within Preview, press Command-A (select all), then Command-C to copy that selection.

3) Get Info on the folder to be customized, click on its current icon at the upper left of the Get Info window, and type Command-V to paste in the copied image.
