Does the iphone have some sort of file browser for documents that you may want to store in it?

FileMagnet - it's a third party app in combination with a Leopard-only desktop client that allows you to store files on your iPod touch/iPhone and view most common file types on the device.

There is another app out there that allows uploading from any WiFi enabled computer but it's only for storage, not viewing.
