Hi all,

Didn't have much time to check the forums for long as I have to pay an exorbitant amount for internet access where I am at the moment, so I apologise if this has been asked before.

I have a friend who recently tried to copy a large amount of music and picture files in a folder to an external hard disk drive from her Macbook. However, in the middle of the transfer she had to leave for some reason, and she decided to 'stop' the transfer.

Then when she came back, she made a mistake of copying the 'half-transferred' files in that folder from her external hard disk drive back into her Macbook and 'replaced' them.

So my question is, is there any possibility of recovering the pictures and music?

She has AppleCare and called the support number, but they just told her to, and I quote, "Go to Google and type in 'Data Recovery Software'", which didn't really help much. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks :)
