Hey.
We have two machines - a Mac Pro and a Macbook Pro. One of the Mac Pro's internal drives are shared. We work on the shared drive from the Macbook Pro, in the process creating thousands of files, many of which will then be further modified from the Mac Pro itself.
All files created from the Macbook Pro are set to 755. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this treats the Macbook Pro as the 'owner' and only gives the Mac Pro read permissions, despite the file being on the Mac Pro's internal drive.
This has become a huge annoyance, as I am constantly setting permissions to be able to modify or rename the files.
I am hoping someone can tell me how to control the permissions applied to the files written from the Macbook Pro.
Thanks for any help!
