File Sharing issue: 'ghost/phantom' shares are still accessible

i have removed all file shares within the system preference pane but can still view & access these removed shares via finder.
there are no configured share points listed via 'sharing -l'

anyone seen this before or have any ideas?
i want to remove these pre-existing shares & recreate them from scratch.

currently running monterey 12.1 but i don't think the macos version is related; i'm guessing there's some old config stuck in a plist or .conf somewhere that i can't find
