File sharing issue - only see folders and no content?

I have a Macbook with 10.5 and a Mac Mini with 10.4.

On the Mac Mini I've gone to my home folder and set permissions for Owner and Group "Paul" to Read and Write as well as Others to Read and Write, I've also checked "Apply to enclosed items".

When I connect on the Macbook I connect as User Paul and can only see the folder name (also called "Paul") and no contents. The same happens when I am guest.

Any idea? Am I missing something obvious?
