I want to know how I can transfer files from my Intel imac (connected to the net via ethernet) to my PC laptop (wireless).

I went to "Sharing" under System Preferences, checked on:
Personal Files Sharing
Windows Sharing

and clicked on start.

On the PC side, went to "My Network Places" and clicked on "add network place", attempted to type my network address:

\\myIP\foldershared

but it tells me it's not valid.

Please help... I want to be able to move some of my music from the mac to the pc and other documents wirelessly.

you don't want to type the folder shared, you want to input your home folder name. Hope this helps.
