I have searched and search and I have not luck yet. I'm Trying to file share my PC desktop with my Macbook running 10.5. My desktop is direct connected and laptop is wireless. The weird part is I have AT&T U-verse for cable and there is a cable box giving off a wireless signal (I don't know if that is the problem). I have tried many different things but nothing is working.... a little help please?

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish. Are you just talking about transferring files or are you talking about displaying your pc desktop on your Mac?

Please specify.

Just transferring files

Just transferring files

Go into System Preferences -> Sharing. Select File Sharing then click the Options button. Change the method from AFP to SMB and save it.

When you want to connect to your Windows PC, you can use the Finder's "Go" menu -> Connect to server and specify smb://ipaddress of your window's pc.
