I have a bug thats driving me crazy. Upgraded to the betas to see if that would fix it but no luck.

I have my MacBook Pro and Mac mini running 10.13.1.

I can connect from the Mac mini to the MBP for file sharing, but not the other way around, it just rejects my password when I try to connect.

This is driving me up the wall, it makes no sense. Yes, I've rebooted, and yes, I've made sure SMB is turned on on both computers, it just flat out doesn't want to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

No idea, but I might have similar issue.

I use my QNAP for TimeMachine and yesterday my QNAP started refusing connection and banning my Mac out of nowhere. Turns out it was due to frequent failed logins (wrong password) by Time Machine. I haven't changed password for Time Machine share on QNAP. It seems my Mac tries to authenticate with wrong credentials.

Maybe it's some bug?

I'm typing in my password manually, so I don't think its the same unfortunately.

Take a look here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204445
On the computer that won't accept your password, open the Sharing preference in System Preferences. Click on File Sharing, then click options. Be sure that the check box next to the username you're trying to use is set.
If that doesn't work, try resetting that user's password. You can even "change" it to the same password as before.

That box doesn't need to be checked for sharing on a Mac, that's for windows file sharing only.

Which Beta are you running? I had a similar problem with the third beta that doesn't occur anymore in Beta 4.
