Okay this is ticking me off!

I know in 10.6.8 I could share a usb drive that was formatted fat32 over my network.

Now this is broken in 10.7

How do I fix this?

I know how to share files over lan and I can get folders I make to work just fine.

But anything on my fat32 drive failes to show up on other computers.
Now before you say "Well just format the drive to hfs+"
I have no place to store the files to do that. and i am not deleting any thing off the usb. Plus this worked in 10.6

Why did this even break?

Whats the fix?
I can not even set who can read or write over the network to the drive.
