I'm trying to find out what capacity iPhone I would need to accommodate all my music. I am happy for it to be downgraded to 128 kbps for use on the device.

I have just synced a couple of albums to my iPad with "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" selected. Is there any way I can see the new file sizes to compare them with the originals?

Thanks guys. It looks like my space requirement will be approximately half my iTunes size (256 kbps iTunes match files).

I thought there would be a way of seeing the size of individual files on the iPad.

You can only see the original file size on iTunes. There is no way to see the on-the-fly 128 kbps converted size on iTunes or the device per individual song. But it's safe to say that a 256 kbps song is double the size of a 128 kbps song. :)
