On copying an 80mb file from my Mac M2 Sequoia 15.7.3 from the Desktop to an SD Card it takes an age stuck
on Estimating Time then decides to move the file ?

A defective card, or low rated SD card are two possible causes. Do you have another SD card to test with?

This is more likely related to the speed of the SD card itself rather than an issue on the Mac itself. Can you take a photo of the SD card with the label visible and readable? That would help determine what speed the card itself is rated for.

I have since gotten hold of another SD card of the same make and type and files transfered to it OK, so it
does point towards the card being at fault.
