Forgive me if this is a noob question, first time playing with OpenSSH, copying files .. etc.

So I copy a SMS sound file per instructions ..

(changed existing sms-received6.caf to .bak and copied new file over)

Test in Settings, worked great.

Then I wanted to try another sound, so named it 'sms-received6.caf' and overwrote.... however when I go to test, it still plays first new file I copied. Only after I restarted the phone did the file then play as expected.

I wouldn't expect that I would have to restart to recognize the new file .. is that accurate ? or am I just not doing something right ..

You don;t need to restart but you do need to quit the application (since once you played it the Sound file will be cached on memory), make sure you quit settings (completly close, so make sure it is not running in the background since Settings is one of the app that support native multitasking/brakgrounding)
