Not able to move picture file from my Mac to my Element Drive. I open both drives and press command and press down on mouse but the file comes back to my Mac and will not transfer files to Element

Is the file a single image, or more than that?

Try this:
- Navigate to where the file is.
- Click on it ONE time to select it
- Type "command-c" (copy)
- Click on the desktop (just on the desktop, not on any file)
- Type "command-v" (paste)
- A copy of the original should now appear on the desktop
- Does it?

If the file can be copied to the desktop (as you just did), can you now "grab it and drop it" onto the icon for the external Element drive?

If this doesn't work, do you get any kind of an error message at all?
If so, what does it say?

Sorry didn't respond sooner I got pulled away for awhile. Copied to desktop ok but when dragging into element icon the picture file came right back to the desktop. no error message

Is this a new hard drive or have you used it on a Mac before? My initial idea is that its formatted to NTFS.

Did a copy appear on the Elements drive? The default D&D action from one volume to another is to copy, not move.
