I have got problems with FileVault preventing some settings to be permanently saved. This applies to changes in default applications and especially FF not being the default browser any longer after reboot.
I have done some research and apart from deactivating file vault, which isn´t possible at this time as I don´t have a spare 800gb, there doesn´t seem to be a solution. I have also read that this problem has persisted since 10.4.5.
How come Apple don´t fix it
